Sun Won't Last Forever, 2020-21 10 (41 x 29,7) cm Conté on paper In "Sun won't last Forever" each drawing work in a single way and, as part of a larger panel, depicts the boundary of flames. These pictures are inspired by continuous solar flares. The process explores gestural actions and curves, similar of "Blow" (2016). Graphic repetition creates a pattern of movements, and interruption breaks the natural pace of drawing created during these movements. So, this process implies the persistence of actions and the slowly recovering of the speed and intensity in each line and in each movement. The surface accumulates the energy and intensity of the drawing implied during the process of doing and handling. Each line depicts a flame, being in itself a moment in the energetic process of drawing. Execution holds and frees each moment on the surface, both as discharge and overload: the drawing of each line and the preparation for the next one. (I) |
